WILMINGTON, MA — Wilmington’s Department of Public Works has been providing progress reports on its website to keep residents better informed. This week, the Department posted updates on the following FIVE current projects.
Glen Road @ Route 62 Intersection
Full depth reconstruction of the intersection has been completed. The intersection has been paved to binder grade, and the installation of new vertical granite curbing began this week. The remaining timeline on the project consists of preparing finishing touches, which include driveway transitions, sidewalk installation, finish pavement and striping, loaming & seeding, and traffic signals.
Rotary Park/Middlesex Avenue Sidewalk Project
The proposed sidewalks have been completed to binder grade. It is anticipated that the top course of sidewalk will be installed during the week of September 7th. After this installation, crews will finish grading a small detention swale and will complete loaming and seeding the area.
Cunningham Street Drainage Project
The installation of the proposed detention pond has begun and is anticipated to be completed next week. After this step, crews will begin installing drainage structures in Cunningham Street. Please obey the directives of Police Details and detour signs during this construction.
Water Main Upgrade For Dexter Street & Silverhurst Avenue
The water main upgrade on Dexter Street and Silverhurst Ave has been completed and temporary asphalt trench patching has been installed.
Shawsheen Elementary School Parking Lot Paving
The grinding and resurfacing project for the Shawsheen Elementary School has been completed.
