WILMINGTON, MA — 81 incidents were entered into the Wilmington Police Log on Wednesday, August 26. Here are TEN highlights:
- A Glen Road caller requested an officer regarding a man talking to her 12 year-old friend online. (12:38am)
- David G. Moore, Jr. (23, Billerica) was issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license; speeding; and operating without insurance. Rachel Lynn Lightner (21, Billerica) was issued a summons for allowing the improper operation of a vehicle. (12:39am)
- An anonymous caller requested a well-being check for a man who had made statements she believed to be suicidal. Police spoke with the man’s grandmother, who stated she spoke with the man within the past 5-10 minutes and stated he was fine. Grandmother refused to assist any further with locating the man. Police searched the surrounding neighborhood and tracks in the area, but were unable to locate him at this time. (2:56am)
- A Cypress Street caller reported what he believed to be a cable wire down in his neighbor’s yard. Police notified Comcast. (11:41am)
- A caller reported a dog was locked in a vehicle in the Market Basket parking lot for at least 10 minutes with window cracked open. Dog was barking. Caller called back to report vehicle just left. (1:25pm)
- State Police contacted Wilmington Police over a domestic altercation. Suspect, a 6′ black male, fled his car on I93 South and was last seen going over the guardrail onto Concord Street. State Police quickly caught the suspect at Concord Street and Woburn Street. (1:55pm)
- A Registry of Motor Vehicle employee reported a man made suicidal threats after failing his road test. Man and his mother left 15 minutes ago, possibly heading back home to Tyngsborough. Wilmington Police notified the Tyngsborough Police. (4:04pm)
- A Glen Road caller reported several messages on their answering machine today with threats aimed at their son. (4:40pm)
- A caller reported a group of youths were walking and riding bikes in and out of traffic and yelling at passing motorists on Middlesex Avenue. Police advised the youths and sent them on their way. (8:19pm)
- Julie A. Geogopoulos (49, Reading) was arrested for an OUI (Liquor) on Woburn Street. (9:42pm)
