POLICE LOG for August 24: Street Signs Go Missing; Needle Found On Boutwell St.

WILMINGTON, MA — 104 incidents were entered into the Wilmington Police Log on Monday, August 24.  Here are ELEVEN highlights:

  • A small children’s bike was located along the side of Aldrich Road. Police contacted DPW for removal. (1:17am)
  • The Fletcher Lane street signs were noted missing from Fletcher & Morgan and Fletcher & Kilmarnock. Police alerted DPW. (2:22am)
  • A North Reading resident reported his dog was a bit by a dog on Lucaya Circle on Friday. The Animal Control Officer was notified. (9:13am)
  • A hit and run was reported at Dunkin Donuts on Middlesex Avenue. The incident occurred around 9:30am between a gray 2010 Honda Civic and a gray 2006 Ford F150. (9:59am)
  • A Jacobs Street caller reported annoying phone calls. (12:03pm)
  • A hypodermic needle was found on the front lawn of a Boutwell Street residence. Police retrieved the needle for destruction. (1:13pm)
  • A resident reported a mail truck parked outside for approximately an hour with no operator on Burt Road. Police found the truck empty and secured. Police believed it was a possible disabled and will check back. (5:28pm)
  • A woman walking her dog on Woburn Street believed a man in a gray Subaru recorded her on his phone then headed toward Concord Street. Danvers Police contacted the driver, who said he was videotaping a home that was for sale on that street to show his wife. (5:39pm)
  • The train gates were reported stuck down on Glen Road. Amtrak was notified. A crew was scene fixing the gates. (7:37pm) Train gates were stuck on flash on Glen Road. Amtrak was again notified. (9:16pm)
  • A Forest Street resident complained about a barking dog on the street, claiming it was an ongoing issue with the dog being left in the yard with no one home. (8:36pm)
  • A black 2015 Honda Accord hit a curb at Main Street and Old Main Street, causing significant damage to the vehicle. No injuries reported. The car was towed and the passengers were picked up by their parents. (10:35pm)
