POLICE LOG for August 22: White Van Following Child Not What It Seems; Loud Party Complaints

WILMINGTON, MA — 71 incidents were entered into the Wilmington Police Log on Saturday, August 22.  Here are NINE highlights:

  • Police noted that sprinklers were on (bylaw violation) at 200 Research Drive. (1:00am)
  • CVS employee reported a suspicious man in the parking lot in a silver Honda. Man seemed unsteady on his feet and then sat in his vehicle with his eyes closed.  Police checked and man had made arrangements to get a ride home from his father. (3:06am)
  • A caller reported he lost his iPhone 5 somewhere on Park Street. (12:59pm)
  • Richard Bibber (23, Wilmington) was issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, no license in possession and speeding. (5:47pm)
  • A caller reported a white van operating very slowly on Boutwell Street along side a boy on a bright orange bicycle. Van was last seen turning onto Presidential Drive. Police investigated and found no issue. The van driver was the boy’s son and was advising him to return home. (6:23pm)
  • A car struck a pedestrian in the parking lot at Target. No injuries noted. (6:42pm)
  • A road rage incident was reported on Main Street.  Caller reported she was cut off on Main Street. The operator of the car then gout of his car at the intersection of Main Street and Lowell Street to yell at her. Police spoke with the operator, who “had a different story.” (8:54pm)
  • A caller reported a loud party on Linda Road.  Police advised the homeowner, who had shut off the music. (11:17pm) Another loud gathering was reported on Anodver Street, which police responded to and got the music turned down. (11:33pm)
  • North Reading Police received a report of a man standing in the middle of the I-93 northbound ramp (Exit 41). Police checked the area and was unable to locate the man. (11:44pm)
