POLICE LOG for August 20: Misbehaving Kids; Man Allegedly Harassing Women; Scam Calls

WILMINGTON, MA — 77 incidents were entered into the Wilmington Police Log on Thursday, August 20.  Here are NINE highlights:

  • Gabriella Torres (19, Billerica) was issued a summons for minor alcohol consumption and a written warning for defective equipment, no registration in possession and speed. (1:43am)
  • A gray 2004 Ford Focus, a blue 2007 Mercury Grand Marquis, and a gray 2010 Subaru Forester were involved in a 3-car accident on Middlesex Avenue. No injuries noted. Airbags were deployed. (8:35am)
  •  A cable wire was reported down across the sidewalk on Deming Way. Police notified Verizon. (10:39am)
  • A Jacquith Road caller received a scam call regarding a posting on Craigslist. (2:35pm)
  • Owner of Lucci’s Supermarket stated a man outside the store sometimes harasses women as they leave the store. Owner stated that this is an ongoing issue for his employees and he would like an officer to speak with the man. Police spoke with the man, advising him to stop his behavior. (5:25pm)
  • A Garden Avenue caller reported many vehicles were parked on the cul-de-sac and causing access issues. Police had the owners move the vehicles. Officer Moon will consider getting some signage for the area. (7:25pm)
  • A Border Avenue caller reported dirt bikes riding on the street. Bikes were gone by the time police arrived. (8:12pm)
  • A Houghton Road resident reported receiving a scam IRS call. (8:29pm)
  • A Stuart Street caller reported a teenage boy was ringing her doorbell over and over again. Police located 3 juveniles in the area, including one matching the description of the caller. All parents were notified and the juveniles were advised. (9:57pm)
