The Wilmington Middle School PAC recently sent out the below email to its members. Their donation campaign page can be found HERE.
It’s an interesting approach to fundraising! Rather than sell anything or hold various events throughout the school year, the PAC is asking parents to make an online donation upfront (by October 31).
Dear WMS Parents:
School starts next week and the PAC is kicking off their NEW Direct Donation Campaign for 2015/2016 school year. The PAC budget has been sponsored by minimal fundraisers in the past including Bags2School Collection Drive, Dessert for a Cause, sales from the WMS Spirit Wear/4R’s Magnets, and the Teacher Appreciation Luncheon direct donations.
Our goal is to fund the PAC budget with 100% family participation in this NEW Direct Donation Membership Drive this year. The fulfillment of this goal will allow PAC to use funds from other fundraisers on items currently not in the School District’s budget. In the past this has included additional technology.
We can promise you, you WILL NOT be solicited with catalogs, Kid’s Stuff books, and Yankee Candle Drives or Pie Fundraisers anymore! The PAC wishes to spend approximately $100 per child per year. Please consider a donation of at least $25, $50, $75 or $100 (suggested amount) per student. By donating the most that you can, your children’s educational experience will be the best that it can be!
With an increased budget, the PAC can supports many wonderful programs, events and initiatives. The largest portion of the budget will go towards Enrichment which will include in-school experiences such as guest speakers, cultural programs, wellness and social media programs. We would like to encourage you to please consider what the WMS PAC will do for the children of The Wilmington Middle School (and how we do it).
In addition to the school’s Enrichment programs, the increased budget will also support programs such as the Guest speakers on Bullying and Substance Abuse issues, The WMS “Wildcat Den” Store, Teacher/Classroom Resources, Technology and Teacher “Wish List” items along with special events honoring our students and teachers, including our Annual Holiday Treat-Fest and Teacher Appreciation Luncheon.
We hope you will realize the great benefit the PAC is for your child (children) and you will join PAC today!
Our first meeting will be held in September, so keep checking the WMS PAC website for a schedule of dates/times.
