TEWKSBURY, MA — Local Heroes held its 4th Annual Hot Rod & Car Show last Sunday, August 16, from noon to 4pm.
The event emanated from the parking lots of Merrimack Valley Pavilion, Audiowerks, and Boutiette’s Auto Body in Tewksbury.
According to organizers Michelle Robertson and Lou Cimaglia, the event raised $15,000, attracted more than 500 visitors, and featured approximately 200 cars and 20 bikes.
In addition to the cars and bikes, the event included dozens of raffles and auctions; a variety of food, ice cream and slush; and MVP’s mini-golf, arcade games and laser tag.
“I want to thank everyone that came out to support the troops. It’s always humbling to see,” Cimaglia told Wilmington Apple. “It was a good time for a good cause.”
Cimaglia and Robertson were both awarded citations from Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker for their service to Local Heroes. The citations were presented by State Representative Jim Lyons (R-Andover).
Local Heroes is a Wilmington-based non-profit organization dedicated to supporting American servicemen and women and helping veterans reintegrate back into civilian life,
