BUCKLAND – Harry Henry Bourassa, 82, passed away on Sunday (8-9-2015) at Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton. Born on April 10, 1933 in Wilmington, MA, he was the son of Donat and Marie (Bedard) Bourassa. He was a U.S. Veteran, serving in the Army during the Korean Conflict.
Harry moved to this area in 1962, and worked for the Town of Buckland Highway Department. He was a member of the VFW Post 8503, the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2758, Elks Lodge #2070 of Tewksbury-Wilmington, MA and the Order of the Masons. He enjoyed bowling, baseball (the Braves), the Boston Bruins and going for rides.
Survivors include his son Ron and girlfriend Mimi Ladd of Buckland, two daughters: Debra Vassar of Ellsworth, ME and Cindy Bourassa of Greenfield; his brother Donat and wife Betty of Wilmington; his sister Lucille Tallini of Salem, NH and many nieces, nephews, and friends including his best friend Chris Johnston. He was predeceased by his wife, Doris (Glynn) Bourassa on August 17, 2014.
At Harry’s request, all services will be private, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home, 104 Bridge St., Shelburne Falls. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
