POLICE LOG for August 2: Man Arrested Near Rocco’s, Car Rollover On Park Street

WILMINGTON, MA — 55 incidents were entered into the Wilmington Police Log on Sunday, August 2.  Here are SIX highlights:

  • A Baland Road caller reported a neighbor has been setting off fireworks for the past few nights. Police spoke with the neighbor and advised him of the law. (2:01am)
  • An officer was flagged down by a passing party reporting a dog at a Woburn Street residence had been outside barking all night. (7:06am)
  • A caller reported sprinklers were on at a Sequoia Drive home, in violation of the water ban. Police left a note for the homeowner and contacted the Water Department. (10:54am)
  • Liam Crowley Coughlan (21, Tewksbury) was issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and motor vehicle lights violations (defective equipment). (6:33pm)
  • The manager at Rocco’s Restaurant & Bar reported she escorted a male party out of the bar that arrived intoxicated. She was concerned for his well-being. He was making statements about harming his ex-girlfriend. He was last seen walking into McDonald’s, across the street. Mark Szczesuil (48, North Reading) was arrested for a restraining order violation and was placed in protective custody. (8:54pm)
  • A gray 2013 Nissan 4D Sentra rolled over at Park Street and Woburn Street, causing damage to a tree and property at 27 Park Street. 2 parties were trapped in the vehicle. The parties were transported to Lahey. Severity of injuries were not noted. (11:12pm)

  1. There was a situation on Tappin Rd. last Firday, with the SWAT team parked in Rocco’s lot. Why isn’t there any news on that? There was nothing in the Crier as well. Any thoughts?

    1. There was nothing in the police log about the incident. I don’t know what the criteria is, but sometimes the police are allowed to withhold certain incidents from the logs.
