WILMINGTON, MA — At this week’s Wilmington Conservation Commission Meeting, Town Engineer Paul Alunni presented the plans for the Sean Collier Memorial Playground, which will be built at Town Beach on Tuesday, September 22. (Learn more about the playground HERE.)
Alunni briefly explained that the project is outside the 100-foot offset from resource areas [edited] and will require very little earthwork and excavation. The project consists of removing the existing playground equipment, digging for new fittings, and installing the new playground equipment.
The Wilmington Conservation Commission had no concerns with the proposal. There were no comments from the audience. Wilmington Conservation Agent Winfred McGowan made one suggestion, requesting that the beach’s new handicap mat be extended to the playground area, which Alumni said he’d bring up with the Department of Public Works.
