POLICE LOG for July 30: More Panhandler Complaints; Fallen Tree on Taft Road Causes Damage

WILMINGTON, MA — 60 incidents were entered into the Wilmington Police Log on Thursday, July 30.  Here are SEVEN highlights:

  • Brandon Sengvong (22, Lowell) was arrested on a warrant (class D), unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and speeding. (7:42am)
  • Tree fell in yard and pulled wires down across the roadway on Taft Road. Reading Light was notified. A resident’s recycling barrel was crushed. DPW was contacted so a replacement can be provided. (8:27am)
  • A Dadant Drive caller reported, last night at 9pm, a laser light was seen shining in her living room from outside. Someone also rang her doorbell three times. Caller wanted the incident logged. Police advised caller to contact the station at the time it occurs. (8:54am)
  • A Hobson Avenue caller reported he has been receiving prank phone calls for several months and wanted the incidents logged. (9:24am)
  • Caller reported a pan handler bothering customers to the point where one customer left to go to a different store. Police spoke with the pan handler, who was on a public sidewalk. He claims not to remember speaking to anyone today. He then leaves for the day. (1:11pm)
  • A Woodside Avenue resident found a syringe on his property. Police retrieved the item for destruction. (4:26pm)
  • Motor vehicle crashes with no injuries reported at Middlesex Avenue and High Street (5:23pm); Main Street in front of Salon Essence (5:43pm); Main Street and Eames Street (6:25pm); and Main Street in front of Meineke (6:29pm).
