WILMINGTON, MA — 90 incidents were entered into the Wilmington Police Log on Wednesday, July 29. Here are ELEVEN highlights:
- A Dunkin Donuts employee reported a man left a needle in a restroom. Employee gave a description of the man. Police found the man by the railroad tracks on Main Street. Man requested an ambulance. Wilmington Fire Department transported the man to a hospital. Police retrieved the needle for destruction. (1:23am)
- A caller from Benevento Sand and Stone on Salem Street reported approximately five power cables were stolen sometime overnight. (7:10am) Detective Stickney later recovered the missing cables in the woods neat the Benevento’s property. (3:49pm)
- An unattended duffle bag was found underneath the Route 62 bridge on Main Street. Police found an ID in the bag and will return to the station and contact the owner. (7:40am)
- A caller reported a needle on the sidewalk of Boutwell Street. Police brought the needle back to the station for destruction. (10:03am)
- A Glen Road caller reported his recycling barrel was stolen. Police contacted DPW. Caller called back to let the Police know the barrel was found. (10:57am)
- A Dadant Drive caller reported sick or injured skunk in the area, walking in circles and falling over. Police observed the skunk and noted it was wobbley, possibly due to the heat. Skunk made its way into the woods. (1:23pm)
- A Dayton Road caller reported a skunk keeps falling down while walking. Police noted the skunk is resting at the end of the road. (3:26pm)
- Ridic and Officer Palmer conducted a demonstration for the Kids Summer Program at the North Intermediate School. (3:51pm)
- A black 1999 Harley Davidson and brown 2006 Honda Civic were involved in a motor vehicle crash on Main Street. No injuries reported. (5:58pm)
- A walk-in party complained of a female panhandler out in front of Market Basket and a male panhandler in front of the Plaza. Walk-in party believed the man may be ill. Police advised both panhandlers and sent them on their way. Male panhandler did not appear ill — he had water in his possession and declined medical treatment. (6:44pm)
- Timothy Bradley (43, Wakefield) was issued a summons for operating a vehicle with a suspended license and speeding. Bradley was on a SCOOTER (Silver 2015 Taotao).
