5 Things To Do In Wilmington Today (August 6, 2015)

Here are FIVE things to do today in Wilmington on Thursday, August 6, 2015.

#1) The Wilmington Police Association and the Wilmington Recreation Department are holding their annual Police Beach Day from 11am to 2pm at Town Beach. This free community event includes fun competitions, sand castle contests, and a DJ. A BBQ unch will be served by Wilmington’s finest!

#2) Attention sports fan! The Wilmington Memorial Library (175 Middlesex Avenue) is running an interesting program at 7pm — “From Ballpark To Bookshelf: A Discussion Of Modern Sports Literature.” Former sports anchorman, Pete Solomon will discuss works of a number of well-known sportswriters as well as highlight a couple of the most memorable books about sports in Boston. In addition, Pete will also share his many experiences of more than three decades in sports broadcasting. Learn more and register HERE.

#3) Red Heat Tavern (300 Lowell Street) is offering live music with Amanda McCarthy at 8pm.

#3) The Wilmington Senior Center (15 School Street) is holding its normal Thursday summer activities — Walking Group (9am), Bocce (9:30am), Art Class (10am); Aerobics (10:30am), and Game Day (1pm). Learn more HERE.

#5) The Wilmington Town Museum (430 Salem Street) is open from 10am to 2pm. Tour the museum for a glimpse into the town’s past – experience the house and Wilmington’s history!  Learn more HERE.
