POLICE LOG for July 28: Very Busy Day For Wilmington Police Department

WILMINGTON, MA — 75 incidents were entered into the Wilmington Police Log on Tuesday, July 28.  Here are TWELVE highlights:

  • A red 2005 Jeep Cherokee and a gray 2006 Nissan Altima were involved a motor vehicle crash at Winchester Family Medical Center on Salem Street. No injuries were reported. (8:20am)
  • A Chestnut Street caller reported a trash truck tapped a wire while picking up the trash barrels and now the wire is low hanging. DPW was notified. (10:15am)
  • Fire and police responded to a fire alarm at Tremezzo Ristorante on Lowell Street. The alarm was caused by burnt food on a stove. (11:00am)
  •  A walk-in party reported her friend’s ex-boyfriend is sending her harassing messages on Facebook and fears the harassment may escalate. Police advised her about protection orders and told her to report any further incidents. (12:19pm)
  • A walk-in party reported her back right tire was slashed. (1:15pm)
  • Lifeguard at Silver Lake reported a woman refused to pay and refused to leave. Police spoke to the woman who was unhappy with the non-resident fee. She packed up her car and left. (1:39pm)
  • A Federal Street caller reported he received a call from someone claiming to be from the IRS. He did not give any personal information. Incident was logged. (1:49pm)
  • A 4-car motor vehicle crash occurred on Lowell Street involving a green 2000 Buick Park Avenue (which was towed), a black 2010 Nissan Altima; a blue 2005 Chrysler Town  Car; and a black 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee. (5:52pm)
  • An intoxicated employee at a Woburn Street business refused to leave the property. Police served the individual a no trespass order. The individual was picked up by a friend. (6:33pm)
  • A daughter requested a well-being check on her parents that live on Andover Street. They had a man going to their house at 5:30pm to possibly purchase a vehicle and she could not get a hold of them. Police found that the parents were at home and checked OK. They will contact their daughter. (6:55pm)
  • A gray 2003 Toyota 4-Runner struck a mail box on Ballardvale Street. The vehicle swerved to avoid hitting pedestrians in a crosswalk. No injuries reported. (7:17pm)
  • Heavenly Donuts employee requesting extra patrols from 8:30pm to 4:30am. (8:36pm)
