WILMINGTON, MA — 48 incidents were entered into the Wilmington Police Log on Sunday, July 26. Here are SIX highlights:
- MBTA reported an unattended firearm was located in the restroom of a train. Wilmington Police responded, as did MBTA transit police. Wilmington Police reported the firearm was an Airsoft gun. MBTA police asked Wilmington to handle. Wilmington Police brought the Airsoft back to the station. (12:09am)
- Owner of Heavenly Donuts called to report his business’s front door was smashed. Detective Nally responded. After viewing the store’s surveillance footage, police determined there was a breaking & entering and are currently looking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect. - A caller reported a resident from Glendale Circle returned home with a Market Basket carriage last week. Carriage had been in front of the home all week. Police notified Market Basket. Market Basket will retrieve the carriage. (2:11pm)
- A walk-in party reported her ATM card was stolen and then used at Cumberland Farms on Main Street yesterday. (2:38pm)
- A manager at a local grocery store requested a well-being check on an employee. Manager stated the female employee had not shown up to work for the past two days and they have not been able to reach her by phone. Police noted her car was in her driveway and mail was in the mailbox. Fire Department helped gain entry to the house. The owner was found deceased. Detective Stickney and officers from the District Attorney’s state police detective’s unit responded. (3:47pm)
- The manager at Heavenly Donuts requested extra patrols during the night due to the recent B&E (11:10pm).
