POLICE LOG for July 24: Funeral Home Broken Into; Hit & Run Reported At Plaza

WILMINGTON, MA — 70 incidents were entered into the Wilmington Police Log on Friday, July 24.  Here are SIX highlights:

  • Police spotted a vehicle in the drive-thru at Dunkin Donuts on Main Street. Operator was asleep at the wheel. Car had hopped the curb. Police requested the Fire Department come out and evaluate the driver. Fire Department transported the driver to Lahey Clinic. The driver’s car was towed. (2:17am)
  • Theodore Murray (32, Billerica) was arrested on outstanding warrants. Police first noticed him because the car he was driving was off the road at Route 62 and Earles Row. (3:28am)
  • A caller reported she was side swiped in the Wilmington Plaza parking lot, in front of Game Stop. The car took off taking a right on Main Street. Caller believed the car was a Red Honda Accord with a female operator. Tewksbury Police was notified. Wilmington Police visited Tewksbury residence of owner of suspected vehicle. No damage was observed on the car and the operator did mot match the caller’s description. (1:41pm)
  • An Ox Bow Drive caller requested to speak with the Animal Control Officer about a wild turkey. (3:17pm)
  • A Cavanaugh and Son Funeral Home employee reported he just returned back from dinner to find that his business had been broken into and items were thrown about. (6:13pm)
  • A multiple motor vehicle crash with serious injuries on I93 South was called in by the State Police. Wilmington Police provided detail officers. State Police handled. Fire Department transported participants to hospital. (10:48pm)
