‘Wildwood Warriors’ Seeking Donations To Fight Theft At Cemetery

WILMINGTON, MA — As Wilmington Apple reported earlier this month, a group of concerned citizens (“The Wildwood Warriors“) is working with a private investigator to put an end to the theft at Wildwood Cemetery.

The group is hoping to raise $500 online to purchase various surveillance tools requested by the private investigator — who is volunteering his time.  The group will also use funds to boost some of their Facebook page’s posts.

Their GoFundMe page reads:

“The Wildwood Warriors is a community group with a goal to stop the thefts at our local cemetery. There has been an enormous amount of stealing of items that people leave on the graves of their loved ones for years now. The lack of reporting has allowed this problem to continue.  The magnitude of the problem was not known until the Wildwood Warriors went public. Several articles have been written in local papers about this problem (Lowell Sun July 12th) as well as a story on FOX TV (Aired July 12th).

The police and a private investigator, are now helping to solve this problem. They are encouraging you to report any theft. The value of the items taken is not important but the theft is. Police are stepping up their patrol through the cemetery and asking people to be aware and report any suspicious activity while there.

The Wildwood Warriors are asking for a donation of any size. This will allow us to move forward and purchase items that will help us catch the individual or individuals that are doing this.”
