The Wilmington-based iPods for Wounded Veterans recently produced two specials for Wilmington Community Television, updating the public on its recent successes.
The first episode saw the organization hand out some of its annual awards.
- Wilmington High School junior Jocelyn Ferraro received the Dear Soldier 2015 Merit Award.
- Ferraro and Dawn Martell, a longtime WHS Biology teacher, were recognized for their work in leading Wilmington High’s Local Heroes Club.
- Malden Catholic Junior Brian Liwo of Melrose, a Naval Academy applicant, received the 2015 Military Community Service Award.
- Stephanie Anderson of North Middlesex Regional High School was recognized for establishing the Dear Soldier Program in Townsend.
The episode also showed some great footage of organization’s latest trip to Washington, DC to deliver gifts to wounded troops.

The second episode saw the organization’s Chairman — Paul Cardello — interview: local country singer Tara Morgan and Gregg Brasso, host of the “Veterans’ Voice” radio show on WATD 95.9 FM, along with the organization’s Veterans Liaison, John Parker. Wilmington’s State Representative Jim Miceli also joins the show via telephone.
