POLICE LOG for July 10: Very Busy Day For Wilmington Police

WILMINGTON, MA — 78 incidents were entered into the Wilmington Police Log on Friday, July 10.  Here are ELEVEN highlights:

  • Lazio Madeira (33, Lowell) was issued a summons for the unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and speeding. (6:38am)
  • Protestors were in the area of the Registry of Motor Vehicles on Middlesex Avenue, protesting Commodore Builders. (7:12am)
  • A Carter Lane resident reported a skunk was stuck in their trash barrel. (7:55am)
  • A detail officer reported stone fell out of a truck with “Dan The Lawn Man” on the side on Route 62. Police contacted the company’s owner, who would have his driver return and clean up the debris. (10:50am)
  • A Veranda Avenue caller reported a metal table and two chairs were just taken from her driveway. A dark colored pick-up truck was seen leaving the area. Police pulled the truck over on Lowell Street and retrieved the items. Caller did not want to press charges and just wanted items back. (11:28am)
  • A walk-in party turned in a BB gun for destruction. (11:40am)
  • A branch on a wire on Fairmeadow Road was causing the wire to spark. Wilmington Fire Department and Reading Light responded. (12:20pm)
  • A motor vehicle crash between an 18-wheeler and 6-wheeler occurred on the I93 Northbound Ramp (Exit 41). No injuries reported. State Police handled the accident. (1:45pm)
  • Benjamin Lucchesi (25, Tewksbury) was arrested for an OUI (Liquor, 2nd offense); negligent operation of a motor vehicle; and disregarding DPW markings. (2:20pm)
  • A man panhandling on Main Street was sent on his way. (4:35pm)
  • Firework complaints investigated on Alice Avenue and Gloria Avenue. (9:01pm, 9:38pm)
