POLICE LOG for July 5: Panhandler Attempting To Sell Puppy?; Dog Left In Warm Car

WILMINGTON, MA — 45 incidents were entered into the Wilmington Police Log on Sunday, July 5.  Here are EIGHT highlights:

  • Robert Marshall Goodell (21, Tewksbury) was arrested for outstanding warrants. (2:08am)
  • Police received a report of a dog in vehicle at Winchester Family Medical Center on Salem Street. Police spoke with the owner, who was leaving the Center. Owner says they had gone out a few times to check on the dog. (12:41pm)
  • A caller reported a male panhandler near CVS on Main Street was holding a sign that says “puppy for sale.” He had a dog tied to a tree. Police will speak with Animal Control Officer tomorrow. (1:19pm)
  • Police spoke with a panhandler in front of Market Basket. (6:57pm)
  • A passerby reported heavy smoke coming from a backyard on Pitman Street. Fire Department responded. There was no fire; a resident was just grilling. (8:01pm)
  • A Woburn Street resident called to complain of fireworks in the area. (9:43pm)
  • A customer threatened another customer at a Dunkin Donuts on Main Street.  Police spoke with both individuals and sent them on their way. (10:49pm)
  • Police conducted walks of Wildwood Cemetery several times during the day/evening.
