POLICE LOG for July 4: Numerous Fireworks Complaints; Drunk T Passenger Taken Into Custody

WILMINGTON, MA — 45 incidents were entered into the Wilmington Police Log on Saturday, July 4.  Here are SIX highlights:

  • A commuter rail train was broken down at the Wilmington Center Train Station. Train gates were down on Main Street because a freight train couldn’t move due to the broken down train. MBTA Police were on the scene. Scene was eventually cleared and gates were back up. (1:49am)
  • Mary C. Dargenio (48, Lowell) was taken into protective custody due to public intoxication at the Wilmington Center Train Station. (2:01am)
  • A caller reported graffiti and vandalism to trees behind Town Hall. Police confirmed trees in the far back corner, along the tree line of the field, were spray painted. DPW was notified. (2:41pm)
  • A caller reported an elderly man, on Lowell Street, wearing a suit and a top hat stated he was walking to Connecticut.  Police spoke with the man in front of Forrest Towing, who “checked out” and was sent on his way. (4:11pm)
  • Fireworks complaints were made on River Street (7:37pm), Ella Avenue (8:39pm), Fairmeadow Road (8:56pm); and Fairview Avenue (10:26pm).
  • An Allen Park Drive caller reported a group of kids egged her house. (9:43pm)
