POLICE LOG for July 3: 3 Arrests, Including Drunk Driver Who Struck Fire Truck

WILMINGTON, MA — 42 incidents were entered into the Wilmington Police Log on Friday, July 3.  Here are EIGHT highlights:

  • Police responded to a caller who reported a black 1993 Ford Mustang was on its side on Andover Street. No injuries noted. Car was towed and boulders (presumably from a wall that was struck) were removed from the street. (12:17am)
  • Dorene L. Hanrahan (46, Lawrence) was arrested for an OUI (Liquor), negligent operation of a motor vehicle, marked lanes violations, and possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle. Hanrahan struck a Wilmington Fire Truck (Tower 1) at the train tracks on Middlesex Avenue. The MBTA held trains in the area. (12:39am)
  • A tractor trailer dropped its trailer on Cornwell Place. Coady’s Towing was able to move it to the side of the road. (6:47pm)
  • Thomas J. White (52, Woburn) was arrested for an OUI (second offense) and possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle. White was reported as “all over the road from Concord Street to Woburn Street.” North Reading Police relayed a similar call they received. (1:07pm)
  • Daniel S. Anastasi (33, North Reading) was arrested for an OUI (drugs). He was found unresponsive in a vehicle on Gandalf Way. Fire Department transported him to Winchester Hospital. (1:49pm)
  • The manager of Salvation Army Thrift Store on Main Street reported an ex-employee, Amanada Brazelle, stole money on her last day in. (2:23pm)
  • A large tree fell onto Benson Road, impeding traffic. Tree was quickly removed. (9:32pm)
  • Police advised residents at home on Houghton Road to stop setting up fireworks. (10:12pm)
