POLICE LOG for June 3, 2015: Horses On The Loose, Elderly Woman Left At Library, Lawn Statues Stolen

WILMINGTON, MA — 37 incidents were entered into the Wilmington Police Log last Wednesday, June 3. Here are SEVEN highlights:

  • A caller reported loose horses on Chestnut Street.  Owner was able to secure horses and is attempting to fix fence issues. (4:58am)
  • A caller reported a cement mixer truck pulled some wires down on Wilson Street.  Reading Light and Verizon were notified. (9:03am)
  • A caller reported that last night, just before 10:30pm, a dark colored station wagon, operated by an older male with a younger male passenger, pulled up in front of her Wilson St. house and took a cement duck statue and cement hedgehog statue from her front lawn.  Caller did not get a license plate number. (9:24am)
  • Library Director Tina Stewart called concerned about an elderly woman who was dropped off at the library and told she would be picked up in 8 hours.  Police contacted Elder Services, who will respond to the library and evaluate the woman. (3:27pm)
  • A black 2008 Chevy Silverado and a 2015 Volvo XC60 were involved in a motor vehicle crash on Main Street.  No injuries were noted. (4:09pm)
  • The Fire Department investigated an odor of smoke inside the Wilmington Middle School. (4:34pm)
  • A Lords Court caller found a small brown and black dog wearing a red collar with what appeared to be an invisible fence device on it.  The dog owner called the station and made arrangements to pick up the dog from the original caller. (10:22pm)
