POLICE LOG for 5/28: Loose Boa Constrictor, Market Basket Bomb Threat, RMV’s Rough Day

WILMINGTON, MA — 52 incidents were entered into the Wilmington Police Log last Thursday, May 28. Here are EIGHT highlights:

  • A Draper Drive caller reported a loose black lab with a red collar.  Dog was gone by the time the Animal Control Office arrived. (10:27am)
  • Fire Department responded to smoldering mulch on Ballardvale Street. (2:48pm)
  • Two Hispanic males in a white 2006 Chevy Silver were asking residents about hot top/seal seating.  Police wanted the incident logged. (2:53pm)
  • A call from Danielle at Channel 5 news was received looking for information about a long line of patrons at the RMV having to wait outside during these humid conditions.  Police checked and notified her that ‘only’ four people were currently waiting outside the building. (3:51pm)
  • A bomb threat was received by telephone at Market Basket on Main Street.  The State Police and MBTA were notified for K9 Assistance.  (Read more about the incident HERE.) (4:11pm)
  • An employee at the Registry of Motor Vehicle on Middlesex Avenue hit the panic alarm after a minor incident between an employee and customer.  North Reading and Tewksbury Police handled the situation. (5:16pm)
  • A McDonald Road resident returned home from vacation and noticed his pet Boa Constrictor had escaped.  Snake is a 4.5-foot red tail boa. (!!!) (7:54pm)
  • Dustin Cole (28, Wilmington) was arrested for disorderly conduct and served a no trespass order from a restaurant on Lowell Street. (10:07pm)
