Social Security—What You Need to Know
Thursday, June 4, 6:30pm

Sheila E. Smith, CFPR, will discuss Social Security benefits: when to file, the advantages of delaying benefits, little-known strategies to maximize this pension, the impact when you continue to work, spousal benefits, eligibility if you are divorced or widowed, and how to minimize taxation of benefits.  Presented in conjunction with the Wilmington Recreation Department.

Writing Group
First Saturday of the month—Saturday, June 6, 9:15 am-11:15 am
(no meetings in July and August)

If you love to write and seek input and accountability, then join our new writing group. Please bring up to five pages of written work to the meeting. Open to all genres and levels. Led by local writing enthusiast, Barbara Alevras.

Network According to Your Personality

Technology Librarian, Brad McKenna, will use the library’s online learning service, Lynda.com, to help you get familiar with Excel. You can then continue the class at home using Lynda.com

Author Talk: Nancy Thayer
Thursday, June 11, 7pm

Best-selling author Nancy Thayer, whose works include Nantucket Sisters, Island Girls and Summer Breeze, joins us to discuss her latest novel, The Guest Cottage.  All of Thayer’s novels take place on the island of Nantucket.

Town Wide Yard Sale
Saturday, June 13, 9am – 3pm

On Saturday, June 13 from 9 am- 3 pm the library is sponsoring a town wide yard sale. This is an opportunity for residents to join the fun by being either a seller or a buyer. For those wishing to hold a yard sale at their home the application fee is $15.  For those wishing to buy, the library will provide a map of yard sale locations starting Wednesday, June 10.  An online map will be available on the library’s website and paper copies will be available at the library, Elia’s Country Store, Eastgate Liquors (1st register), and Wilmington Plaza Wines (liquor store next to Market Basket). Shop and save!

Holiday Hours

The library will be closed Friday, June 5, 9 am-1 pm for staff training.

FAX and Scanning Available

Do you need to FAX a document? The library has a FAX service available. The cost is $1.75 for first page and $1.00 for each additional page if faxing within the United States. Credit card or debit card is needed to use this service. The library’s copy machine has scanning capability. No charge to scan and email a document.
