The Wilmington-based Merrimack Valley Chorus performed on the debut episode of WGBH’s new singing competition television show, “Sing That Thing!,” last month. (View the episode at the bottom of this page.)
After performing, the chorus was told it would “likely” advance in the competition, which the show confirmed on May 15.
The group will perform on the show’s one-hour finale airing tomorrow night, Friday, May 22, at 8pm on WGBH 2.
The Merrimack Valley Chorus will compete against another “adult large group,” each singing the same original song. The winner will move on to the finals later in the show, performing a song of their choice against the winners in the other categories — high school, college and adult small group. The judges will then crown an overall winner.
Below is a photo from the Merrimack Valley Chorus’s Facebook page, with the group and Jim Papoulis, the composer and conductor of the original piece they’ll sing at the finale. Good luck MVC!
