WILMINGTON, MA — Resident Jay Ruggiero is turning to GoFundMe to raise funds for a headstone and plot at Wildwood Cemetery for his late friend, Collette Rose Kately. Collette passed away 8 years ago this week.
Read Jay’s request below:
“On May 13th, 2007 Collette Rose Kately took her last breath. A graduate of Wilmington High School and an employee of Anton’s at the Wilmington Plaza, she was 19 years old. She was a young, beautiful, unique, and amazing woman that was taken from us too soon.
Unfortunately, due to financial reasons, we were never able to give Collette a proper resting place for all of Collette’s friends and family to go and visit. Collette was cremated and her ashes have been spread at many places important to her and her family.
It has been 8 years since her passing and for me it’s hard not having a place to go to visit her. I’m setting up this GoFundMe hoping that some of her friends and family are willing to help me make this possible.
The headstones we were looking at are in the $ 500 – $1000 range, and after taking with the folks at the Wildwood Cemetery, I learned a plot will be about $700.
Any money not raised I will be paying myself, and any extra money raised will be donated to A New Hope Foundation, which is dedicated to the treatment of adults and adolescents affected with alcohol, drug and gambling addiction.
Anything will help and will be greatly appreciated, and you will be able to visit Collette to see what your donation went towards.”
