POLICE LOG for 5/8: Man Arrested For Driving Offenses; Promgoer Hits Pole

WILMINGTON, MA — 59 incidents were entered into the Wilmington Police Log last Friday, May 8:

Here are SEVEN highlights:

  • The Boston Police Department called to report they located a missing juvenile from the Milestone Group Home (82 High Street).  Juvenile is now in custody of the state’s Department of Children & Families. (6:33am)
  • A caller reported that while jogging near the Town Beach, she noticed a man getting out of a Blue Prius and appeared to be “on something,” acting very “twitchy.”  When the man noticed the caller, he went back into the vehicle, driven by a woman, and left the area.  (6:50am)
  • A caller from Sullivan Mechanical Services on Ballardvale Street reported a Bobcat was stolen last night. (8:06am)
  • Police arrested Justin DiPlatzi (36, Wilmington) for operating with a suspended license, operating an uninspected motor vehicle, and operating a vehicle with no front license plate. (9:47am)
  • Fire Department put out a brush fire on Wild Avenue. (5:31pm)
  • Resident on Bancroft Street reported seeing a vehicle strike a telephone pole and take off.  Resident asked police to check damage to pole and reported the license plate.  Police investigated and determined the car was driven by teen on his way to the prom.  Teen will come by the station tomorrow afternoon. (6:27pm)
  • Market Basket employee reported that a shoplifter was detained at the store.  Market Basket decided not to press charges.  Shoplifter was served a no trespass order. (6:36pm)
