WILMINGTON, MA — Last Saturday, May 9, twenty-five teams from nine towns competed in the Middlesex Math Madness Tournament, a Math-Olympiad type competition, held at the Memorial Elementary School in Burlington.
Wilmington was well represented with two strong teams — one from the North Intermediate and one from the West Intermediate.
The North’s team consisted of Maura Fiorenza, Marissa Gallozzi, Anay Gandhi, Emily Gray and Lillian Nguyen.
The West fielded a team with Jia Kumar, Cameron Eich, Srikar Mallajosyala, Olivia Spizuoco, and Angelyn Ciampa.
Both teams performed well, with the team from the North even medaling, finishing in third place overall!
“This was an amazing experience for everyone: students, teachers and their parents,” said Elementary Math Coordinator LisaMarie Ippolito, who shared photos from the event below.
