Man to Walk Across Scotland To Raise Money For Wilmington’s “iPods for Wounded Veterans”

WILMINGTON, MA — This May, Captain David Bourne of the Teamsters Airline Division will be taking on a new challenge. In order to raise money for our wounded servicemen and women, Dave will be walking across Scotland in support of iPods for Wounded Veterans, a group founded by Teamsters and joined by members of the DAV and VFW. On the 24th of May, Dave will leave from Port Glasgow and head across Scotland, finishing on June 7th in the city of Inverness. All funds raised will go to the iPods for Wounded Veterans charity.

About Captain Bourne

Capt. David Bourne is a Boeing 747-400 pilot who has been the Director of the Teamsters Airline Division since 2008. He has been involved in numerous negotiations and has improved the contracts and working conditions for Teamster pilots across the country. He has also served as the Vice Chairman of the Air Line Pilots Association’s President’s Committee on Cargo.

About iPods for Wounded Veterans

iPods for Wounded Veterans was founded in 2011 and has made 15 trips from Boston to the Walter Reed Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland and The Traumatic Brain Injury Unit at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. The all-volunteer 501(c)(3) organization has also visited Veterans’ hospitals in Tampa and Orlando, Florida and Richmond and Petersburg, Virginia. They’ve distributed over 2,000 electronics, including iPods, iPads, Bose headphones, Skull Candy earbuds and numerous iTunes gift cards and magazines. 100% of the donations made to iPods for Wounded Veterans are channeled directly to our wounded heroes.
