WILMINGTON, MA — The Town of Wilmington is updating its Open Space Plan. The Plan identifies areas for growth, improvement, and management of our open spaces and recreational spaces. Open space can be anything from undisturbed wetlands to basketball courts. Each type of open space contributes to the quality of life in Town.
The Massachusetts Department of Energy & Environment requires a community have an updated and accepted Open Space Plan in order to be eligible for grant funding for construction and rehab of parks. Community input is a major component of the Plan and ensures the Town is developing action plans that meet the residents’ needs.
To participate in the survey, click HERE. The survey is 24 questions long and will take approximately 10 minutes to complete. Participants will have the opportunity to provide feedback on Town-wide open/recreation space, open/recreation space in their neighborhood, and input on what the Town should focus on for the future. Responses will be collected through June 5th. Paper surveys will be available at the Town Hall, Library and Senior Center as well.
The Town is also hosting an Open Space Workshop on Wednesday, May 27, 6PM at the Wilmington High School. The workshop is open to all and will help us gather additional input and ideas.
