OBITUARY: Richard A. Day, 84

Richard A. Day, age 84 of Salem, NH, died Sunday at Lawrence General Hospital, Lawrence, MA.

He was born in Lowell, MA, grew up and was educated in Wilmington, MA. He was a resident of Salem for the past 46 years, formerly of Tewksbury, MA.

Richard was a parts manger for various dealerships, with his last being Olsen Cadillac in Woburn, MA. He was a US Navy veteran, serving in the Korean War. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, music, his cat “Sassy”, and was an avid reader.

He was predeceased by his wife Alice E. (Wagstaff) Day, his son in law Michael LeClercq, and his brother in law Lou Borgatti.

He is survived by his children: Rick and his wife Lynne Day of Pelham, NH, Shawn and his wife Judy Day of Salem, NH, Robin LeClercq of West Stewartstown, NH, and Maureen Day of Salem, NH

Brother James and his wife Joanne Day of Methuen, MA

Sister: Virginia Borgatti of Biddeford, ME

6 Grandchildren, 1 Great Granddaughter, Several Nieces & Nephews

Memorial visitation will be held Thursday, May 7th from 6-7:30 PM, followed by a memorial service at 7:30 PM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St, Salem, NH.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manchester VA Hospital, 718 Smyth Road, Manchester, NH 03104
