PHOTO OF THE DAY: Images Emerge Of Sunday’s Wrong-Way Highway Crash In Wilmington

As reported here on Sunday, an 80 year-old Lynnfield man entered I-93 traveling South in the northbound lanes in Wilmington.  His actions caused a three vehicle accident between the man’s 2013 Acura, a 2006 Jaguar operated by a 25 year-old Brighton man, and a 2002 Chrysler operated by a 26 year-old woman from Central Falls, Rhode Island.  The accident remains under investigation.  The old man was injured and the drivers of the other two cars sustained only minor injuries and were transported to Lawrence General Hospital.  A miracle considering the Chrysler burst into flames.  Passerby Jessica Latorre captured the two images and shared them on Twitter. I’m re-sharing with permission.
