WILMINGTON, MA — At approximately 11:20pm last night, a water main broke underneath the Route 125 overpass on 93 South, near Exit 41, in Wilmington, resulting in incredibly dangerous conditions for drivers and the closure of three lanes.
A.P. Blake (@BostonUrbEx) broke the news on Twitter: “Wow! Massive water main break over 93 SB center lanes @ exit 41. Waterfall onto cars. PD just arriving.”
The Wilmington Police Department posted the below photo on Twitter at 11:41 PM.

Mark Parkinson, a news photographer for Fox 25, was one of the first on the scene. He posted an incredible video on his Vine account HERE and another incredible video on his Instagram account HERE. He noted the roadways were becoming icy.
Wilmington Fire Chief Rick McClellan posted the below photos on Twitter at 12:57am, urging drivers to avoid the area.
At 2am, McClellan tweeted that water had been shut off and lanes would be re-opened by 2:30am.
