LIBRARY NEWS: Wilmington Library To Hold 17 Programs Next Week, Including Stuffed Animal Sleepover Drop Off On June 24

Adult Programs

Bookends Book Group
Monday, June 24, 10am
This book group discusses contemporary books, both fiction and non-fiction, led by Library Associate Rebecca Lowe. Copies of the book are available at the library. June’s featured book is Charlie Chaplin vs. America: When Art, Sex, and Politics Collided by Scott Eyman.

Needleworkers at Night
Monday, June 24, 6pm
These nighttime sessions are perfect for anyone who does any kind of needle craft but can’t make it to Needleworkers during the day! This group meets every Monday night in the cozy seating area on the first floor of the Library.

HYBRID DEI Book Group
Monday, June 24, 6:30pm
This group meets on the 4th Monday of the month. We read the book three chapters at a time to allow us to delve deeper into what we’re reading. The current book is The Deviant’s War by Eric Cervini. This session will cover the introduction of the book through Chapter 4 (66 pages).

VIRTUAL Creative Writing Skills Group

Learn and apply creative writing tips, tools, and techniques shared by published authors and other writing experts. Open to all who want to improve their writing skills and get their work published. Pints + Pages
Thursday, June 27, 7pm
A social book group geared towards readers in their 20’s and 30’s. This group meets on the first Thursday of every other month. The book discussion will be hosted by librarians from the Wilmington and Tewksbury Public Libraries. Meeting location rotates between Wilmington, MA and Tewksbury, MA and surrounding towns. This month’s book is Birnam Wood by Eleanor Catton. The meeting location for this month is Hopothecary Ales in North Reading.

Needleworkers
Friday, June 28, 10am
This is a social group for those who do any kind of needle craft. Bring your knitting, crocheting, quilting, etc. and enjoy conversation and camaraderie. Drop-in.

Youth Programs

Stuffed Animal Sleepover Drop Off
Monday, June 24, 9am – 5pm
Drop-off your stuffed animals for a night of fun at the library! Bring them by anytime between 9am-5pm and fill out an Emergency Contact Form for your stuffed animal friend! We’ll have a blast playing games and exploring the library all night long! Pick up your stuffed animals anytime on Tuesday, June 25 to hear all about their awesome library adventures! All ages

Wilmington Community Playgroup
Monday, June 24, 10am
The Community Teamwork Family Resource Network is here weekly! Join CTI for a community playgroup where we’ll work on Early Literacy skills and much, much more! Ask CTI about any resources they can help provide for you and your family. The first playgroup of every month will focus on infants and toddlers. Ages 0-6, siblings welcome

Dr. Rosie Helps the Animals Reading and Stuffie Vet Clinic

Bring your stuffie to meet the author and illustrator of Dr. Rosie Helps the Animals, an award-winning STEM picture book based on and informed by real-world veterinarians. Outdoor Preschool Storytime

Break Free From Plastic Brand Audit – Citizen Science

Book Store Next Door
The Book Store Next Door is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10am to 4pm. Shop discount books! Paperbacks for $1 and hardcovers for $2. The Book Store is staffed by volunteers from the Friends of the Library and all proceeds help support library programs.

The library has discounted passes to your favorite Massachusetts museums, attractions, and state parks. Find the full list on our website!

WML In-Person Programming
Registration is required for most in-person programs. Please check our website on the day of the program to confirm location. Masks are no longer required for vaccinated patrons while visiting the library.

WML Virtual Programming
The library continues to offer a variety of virtual events. Please note that registration is required in order to receive the Zoom link. Go to wilmlibrary.org to register or call 978-658-2967.
